STUDY MODES

RCM applies innovative learning methods to educational delivery systems by providing students the opportunity to chose a convenience mode of study or the combination of modes to complete the study

(A) Part-Time: March and September

(B) Independent Study with Short-Residency: This is a Blended Study System i.e. Distance Learning with Short Residency Attendance periods at RCM Campus or Affiliated Learning Centres.

(C) Supported Distance Learning (SDL): This option offers student greater flexibility to start and complete the study at any time choosen, without commuting to organised classes. SDL is a cost-effective way to combine job with education, and earns recognised qualifications without the need of leaving paid employment. This option encourage students toward exceptional commitment with self-discipline, self-appraisal, and self-revelation

COURSE INSTRUCTIONAL PACK

Student taking distance learning programs will receive a comprehensive study package for each course or subject; the pack will contain specific Course Manual, Core Textbook, Examination Grade Sheet, Faculty Information and contact references of Instructor or Faculty Mentor

Every course or subject have a specific Instructional Course Manual (ICM) which identifies the concepts or ideas considered to be significant to that particular course. The ICM contains Course Curriculum or Sylabus which is extremely important to the student, because it reflects everything that the student is expected to learned and understood from the course.

Instructional Course Manual (ICM) contain diverse information e.g. Study Program; Course Title and Code; Course Description; Course Objective; Course Curriculum or Sylabus; Learning Activities; Performance Requirements Assignment; Assessment Plan; List of Advisory and Reference Texts

AssessmenT METHODS

Courses Assessment is by mixture of Examination and Assignments. Students are to maintain good academic grades throughout the study. Performance Requirements Assignment for the course are designed to measure student's understanding of the materials and to test your application of the principles learned to real-life situations. The learning methods are listed in the Instructional Course Manual (ICM) under  "Learning Activities", i.e.  reading assignments, library research, problem solving, oral discussions with the assigned instructor, reports, projects, and case analysis.

Grades and Credits are awarded when student has performed the tasks and objectives indicated by the Performance Requirements Assignment such as to: List, Explain, Discuss, Critique, Describe, Defined, Analyse, Propose, Summarize, Identify, Illustrate, etc. Student is expected to applies logical answer and case examples to support the argument. Student academic performance will be measures on acceptable overall achievements - see (a) Course Grading (b) Academic Regulations

 

When student has completed and submitted an assignment or examination, RCM Instructors and Examiners will assessed the course-work, records appropriate grade on the exam grade-sheet, signs and returns it to Administration Office for filing from where a copy is send to student. Provided the student has paid appropriate Tuition Fees, the Administration Office will send the next course pack including ICM and Grading-Sheet to the student. These steps are repeated until the required number of courses for the program has been satisfactorily completed.

PROCTOR EXAMINATION

To ensure the security of course-examination and the integrity of matricutlated student, RCM requires all distance learning students to complete Final Examinations under the supervision of an Approved Proctor.  A Proctor is a respected and impartial individual that will monitor and ensure that the student taking and completing the exams without any outside assistance. The Proctor examination will be administer within the student's territory; the student can nominate a Proctor who is residing within his/her area of location. The nominated Proctor will be Approved by RCM to administer the particular Course-Examination. When RCM already has designated Examination Proctor or Examination Centre in same territory, the student will contact the centre or person to arrange the schedule of the examination. An acceptable Proctor will be College Professor, Tutor, Religion Leaders, Librarian, Education Officers, Counsellor, Superviror or Departmental Leaders in organizations. It may not be a relative or spouse. Students are permitted to utilize any notes, Learning Modules, calculators, or other materials used during the completion of their Final Exam.

 

FACULTY & Academic Support

Student will have access to qualified and experienced Faculty and Administrators. RCM operates open communication channels through telephone, fax, email to provide tutorial assistances throughout the program. Students will have continuous dialogue with appointed instructors in order to guide and assist the student with the course and evaluate the written course-work submitted for grading. The academic and faculty support will afford student the opportunity to revise the course-work and to submit the revision to the instructor for a re-evaluation.

 

Graduation Requirements

Graduating student must satisfactorily complete all required courses in the program of study. All academic and financial obligations to RCM must be fulfilled before the award of Transcript and Diploma. The Administration Office will send a letter of “Program Completion” to the student; the graduating student will filled out an "Intent-to-Graduate" form and forwarded it to RCM Headquarters in Switzerland for transcript and diploma preparation.
